Well done! Very pleased to see Fox up there.

+ 1 Delighted for Fox, well deserved. The quality of acting on the show was consistently strong but Fox, O'Quinn and Emerson were stand-out performers.

I'm surprised by that. I didn't think it would do too well. It must be a LOTR effect.
I don't know who the other candidates are so I obviously not that informed but out of the acting nominations O'Quinn is the absolute heads down winner for me. He was awesome this season.

I updated my post to show more detail. Most of the nominations were for the finale.

Best Writing for The End?! :pac: Only in America. And why is Elizabeth Mitchell up for an award in that episode? Didn't she just have a reunion moment with Sawyer? Can't remember anything else of note.

I think Fox is deserving of the best actor nomination and Giacchino for best score but I wouldn't have given out anything else for that season. Worst of the lot and did untold damage to the show as far as I'm concerned.

Best guest actress is what she is up for that. You only need to appear once although I am kind of amused by it. She puts in 3 years as cast member, no acclaims, 1 year on V, no acclaim. Pops up for 5 minutes in the end and get a nomination.

I've never found Fox to be a good actor. lol@ 'Best writing'.

Can't argue with the nomination for the score though. LOST has always had great soundtracks.

Hope it does well. The nominations should be seen as a recognition of the entire 121 hours, not just the finale.

Not really, there is awards every year so those nominations are for this seasons work and this seasons work was a joke when in context with the other 5 seasons.

I dont disagree with any of the nominations or episode specific work except for writing. Is that award taking in all the other work in the show just one episode on its own merits? I'll not watch anything that has either attached because they are just ratings wh0res

I'd say the guy that done continuity is probably working in burger king by now

Actually it's not, each nomination is judged by 1 episode alone. So Fox is up for the End, Darlton are up for the end, Giacchino is up for the end, Emerson and O'Quinn are probably up for a different episode likely their character centric episodes. The awards shouldn't be judged for anything other than episode nominated....of course that's not to say that people aren't thinking of the 6 years as a whole. I definitely think there is somewhat of an LOTR effect going on.

I'd doubt it will actually win many, Mad Men seems to own the emmys and it's up against that a lot. I'd say O'Quinn will win and so will Giacchino and that will be it.
(Well it might win 1 of those technical awards but nobody cares about that)

What I meant was that nominations are picked from this seasons work.

As I said already, I dont disagree with any of the nominations or episode specific work except for writing.

    Thats why I posted:

Mitchell was robbed in not getting more recognition for her Season 5 work. Maybe this is their consolation prize to her.

Agreed. I thought her performance in the finale in particular was the standout performance.

Its about time Fox got an Emmy nom well deserved

Creative emmys were held last night. Lost won best picture editing. Giacchino didn't win best score, that went to 24 which I find amazing; I couldn't pick out 1 piece of music from 24. Musically I think Lost crushes it.

I totally agree with you there. I presume 24 got it for the music during the emotional scenes during the Finale which I can understand. it was pretty moving.

Lost didn't win any in the end as the usual suspects won out.
Mad Men won best drama. I've yet to watch it so no idea if it is as good as many make out. It also won best writing ahead of Darlton.
Bender lost best directing to Dexter which is fair enough. Dexter was awesome this year.
Fox lost out to Bryan Cranston, of Breaking Bad. This was a really stacked category but I'm glad he won as his work in BB was incredible.
Finally Aaron Paul, who plays Jesse in Breaking Bad, won best supporting actor ahead of Emerson and O'Quinn. This is the 1 award I wholly disagree with. He was good in BB but O'Quinn was streets ahead of him imo.

Aaron Paul overacted the hell out of season 3. I preferred when he was just a stoner.

Going by its competition I don't think it deserved any. The last season was a let down to many compared to the great seasons before and TV has just moved on. The Emmys is judged year on year and probably felt obliged to give it all the nominations but I don't think it deserved any awards, as a standalone season it was poorly written with many filler episodes.

I haven't seen most of the other shows so I can't really comment on best actor etc but I have seen 24 and I can't believe it won best music.

Giacchino definitely deserved an Emmy imo

Very disapponted O'Quinn and Giacchino didn't win :(

Sean Callery has done an outstanding job on 24 over the years with consistently excellent scores and derserved this award just as much as he did with any of his previous Emmy wins.
