a few people have mentioned this to me and im undecided.. .

house is dormer, with hollowcore and metal suspended ceiling, I used 50mm insulated plaster board on the downstairs ceilings.

house was plastered about 6 weeks ago now, last of it up stairs was finished 2 weeks ago. . .

windows are open most of the time, house is really well dried out.. . this is not an issue.

question, insulation is down on the floors and the plumber is starting now and hoping for screed in 3-4 wks time. . .

could i throw on the first coat/mist coat of paint now when i have all this time . . .. .

the 2 things im thinking is:
how will this work if the dampness from the screed goes up the wall a bit. (sand/cement old fashion method, not that liquid flowscreed stuff)

and would there be any dampness from the screed upstairs coming down onthe ceiling downstairs? hard to imagine, 5 inch gap. .

    would like opinions

    cheers

IMO the longer you leave it unpainted the better. Don't paint the walls until all screed is laid and dry. Mix emulsion 50/50 with water for 1st coat.

we thought our walls were really dry and then the heatpump and ufh went on. the difference you'll notice in two days will show you that your house is far from dry.

like mentioned above i'd wait as long as possible before starting to paint the walls.
