dvd player problem

    it wont show the full vertical, screen shot didnt capture the actual pic off the dvd but it gives the idea. any settings i can change to get it proper full screen?

    You mean the black bars? Films are shot in different aspect ratios. You are getting the full picture.

    when i play it on my ps3 it fills the screen.
    its a mac mini which was bought to replace the ps3 for this type of thing.

    I think it might depend on your screen ratio aswell, not sure tho!

    What kind of screen are using with the Mac mini? Is it 4:3? Do you use the same screen with the PS3?

    just a 42" lcd, same as with the ps3.

    its at 16:9 as 4:3 just takes away from the sides.

    In that case there's something wrong. Your Mini's resolution probably isn't set properly. That screenshot you posted is 4:3. That means your Mini is using a 4:3 resolution. Does everything look stretched and distorted?

    You need to go into Preferences > Displays and pick a resolution closest to your television. You may need to adjust your television settings as well.
