just have to mention this as i thought it was fairly poor for a main dealer. i spotted a nice looking 05 fiesta they have, called to see if they still had it and asked if it had any marks that you cant make out in the pictures. the salesmans exact words were "no its a great little car, i'm surprised we still have it". i got a rough idea of what they'd take for it and decided it'd be worth a spin up (from wexford).

arrived today and it actually looked good at first down the driver side, the alloys were spotless, no scratches but thats as good as it got. the front alloy on the passenger side was chewed really badly and the rear has a big crack in it which stuck out pat the tyre as well as being chewed up. it might even be broken, its that bad. the front tyres were well worn too.

the back door had a bad dent at the handle which must have been a kick judging by where it is and was starting to rust. there was a really noticable mark on the rear bumper where something fell on it and cracked the paint and the front bumper had a slight scratch extending back along the wing.

luckily no salesman showed their face because they would have been coughing up for petrol. total chancers.

Mmm, in the past I bought a car in Dublin, told the dude I would be driving from Cork and may well buy it if she was straight etc, he told me she was fine, front bumper could do with a respray due to scuffs etc. We agreed a price and when I went up to buy her I offered him less again. If you tell them you are making a trip up and will be well p'd off if she isn't as described I reckon the vast majority of sales folk would be straight enough. Sorry to hear your dude wasn't.

Why didn't you wait to speak to one of the salesmen there and maybe you could have done some kind of a deal whereby he would repair these dents etc?

do you think a car in that condition was well looked after? theres plenty to choose from and out of the 20-30 iv seen this was the only bad one.

In fairness, they wouldn't even tell you about faults that were as plain as the nose on your face, you'd wonder what less obvious problems were lurking

Plus having been lied to by a salesman and as a consequence driving up from Wexford to Naas, would that make a person inclined to want to give that dealer his business...?

Why did you drive all the way up from Wexford, was it the cheapest car on carzone. If so what couldy you expect. Altho that doe not say what the salesman did was alright, he shoudl have described it as it was.

no it actually looks good in the pictures and is priced the same as other 05's. the plan was to collect it saturday if it was as described.

In fairness the price must have been fairly right on it if you came up to look at it.Do you have any idea how many tyre kickers salesmen have to deal with in a day.He was trying to get you up to look at it and if you had have waited around you would have got talking to somebody and done some sort of a deal on it
