Well for a start off I bet the stock is injection mounded ****ee.
If you intend on upgrading the gun over time; ie, stock, trigger etc then the remmy is a great starting point.
However if you are looking for a hunting gun hat you can keep for the next decade, perhaps save up for a sako or even tika.
I went down the rem700 route for two of my guns, mainly for the actions and customablilty ( is that a word ?), but I also have a Sako75 that I'll probably never have to touch for hunting.

Think about a 2nd hand Sako or Tika if it's your first centre fire and spend as much as you can on a good scope.

    ... and customablilty ( is that a word ?)...

    Customisability, I think.

All Remmy stocks can be glass bedded. Pillars can also be installed

The remington is designed to be accurate and tough.
    They are both.

But like most mass production; they can be improved on ;)

Yeah the stock is that, it felt a bit like a toy in my hands but it really did look the business! I suppose then that a 2nd hand sako or tika would be similar price to the new remi? the dealer is asking €799 fir the rifle but i could get it for close to 700 i would say. Might have a look around for and get a feel for the 2nd hand stuff.
