    Alrite lads,

So I'm heading on a first date tonight with a girl a met a last week! She has suggested the cinema which I went along with although it wouldn't be my first choice! Anyway We can't go until late as she has work. Basically at the moment its looking like i'll pick her up, we'll drive to the cinema and by the time we get out everywhere will be closed so i'll drop her home again! There is no oppertunity for us to really talk or get to know each other, other than in the car or possibly over a bag of chips if anywhere would be still open!! Any ideas on what to do lads cause at that rate it'll seem like a fairly sh!t date don't ya tink??

best thing to do is head to eddie rockets afterwards and get a milkshake... you'll get a chance to have a chat & get to know each other..

Yep, some fast food after and a chat may be your only bet.

A few months ago I had a cinema date and it was really crap - both the film and the fact that she wasn't bothered to go anywhere after. We did go out again but still annoyed me how crap that date was.

Cinemas and early dates are like pig and elephant DNA. They just don't splice:D

On the upswing, if you like her, the early cinema date is a good opportunity to say "I had fun tonight but we didn't get to chat that much. Let's go for a drink on Saturday!"

first date to the cinema is a bit juvinile, imo

Id rather go for a quiet drink and talk rather then watch some movie...

    personally speaking..

If all else fails this is a good line.

If there is a Leisure plex near by you could go for a game of bowling or a few games of pool

well lads, thanks for the replies!!

Turns out we managed to go to a quiet little local pub, had a few drinks and a good chat!! I think it went quite well, 2 and a half hours passed in what seemed about 20 minutes so that must be a good sign anyway!!

Hopefully she'll want to meet up again!
