O2 Plan Reduction Offer

I've bought an iphone last October with O2 and have been on the €65 plan since with free unlimited texts. The plan has suited me perfectly as I use loads of texts messages every month.

O2 called me this week offering to put me on there €60 plan as long as I stay with them for another 18 months. The plan gives me an 1gb of data. Also they confirmed I can upgrade to the Iphone 4 in October if I want to.

On the face of it the offer seems great as I get the same plan but extra data for €5 less a month. The problem I have is signing a contract for another 18 months.

Does anyone know if price plans are due to come down in the next few months say for example if meteor or three start selling iphones? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Don't do it!!

Ring them and tell them you want to be released from your contract as per this thread.

Well like to be honest if he wants to stay with O2 then the get out of contract thread is of no use. After a few months you can always downgrade or change plans but you obviously start the 18 months again.

Best advice is look around see what the other networks will offer and use the "get out of your contract" clause (which ends in 4 days) to increase your options. Don't just get out of contract for the sake of it. O2 might not take you back straight away if you decide you want to stay with O2.
