Hello ,I've posted on the forum looking for advice on an mp3 mixer ,but I'm holding off for the moment.

I'm thinking of heading down the software route first and seeing how I get on with something like adobe audition.

How does a program like this compare to the results of mixing on something like an omni ?

I don't know anything about it but I doubt its meant for DJing - i've certainly never heard of anyone using it.

Main software for DJing is Traktor, Torq, Itch, Virtual DJ, Mixxx, Ableton - give one of them a shot

It's not really dj software ,it's a program for pasting mp3's together ,I use to play around with it about ten years ago when it was called cooledit. There was about 16 channels ,each with a seperate effect etc.

I may give traktor or vdj a go so ,thanks.

Yeah your man Girltalk uses that Adobe Audition for all the mash up stuff he does when he plays "live".

All he has on stage is a laptop nothing else. Wouldn't say its for mixing really.

Had a go of traktor ,it's better than I thought it'd be.

I was worried about pushing the incoming track into time ,very easily done with the arrows.
I take it if you use a mixer ,this is what the jog wheels are for? ,That was my main concern with the mixer was the pushing it a little behind or ahead.

Nice one , just been messin around with red2 and ron trent.

dude have a read of the "Waht controller should I buy" sticky and check out a few videos on youtube to see how people mix with them. Forget the mouse you need an external contoller.

With the omni ,I thought there was a dial just above the crossfader that scales through the menus ,then press the buttons either side to select deck a or b.

    I'm seriously considering the omni.

    Thanks for the help

Edit: I've read through that thread a good bit ,need to do some more though.

You can make it do whatever you like, its the beauty of MIDI. Same browser is in the Stealth and Total.
