NCT Requirements/Boot Pneumatics

Does anyone know if the pneumatics in the Boot/Luggage Compartment (to lift rear hood) are required to be working to pass the NCT test? The boot can be opened and closed OK but without the aid of the pneumatics. Mant thanks PS: To Mods: Please feel free to move if there is a more appropriate section for this post. Thank you
