    No is the short answer. In some cases you don't even have to have sat a Leaving.

    The more popular courses will be over-subscribed so it won't be an issue there but there are many courses and colleges who take people based on interview and educational history.

    By the same token you could have some crazy amount of points in an Honours Leaving and not get accepted onto a PLC course. Results are not everything.

    If for any reason you do not pass your Leaving Certificate and/or you do not get offered a PLC place - you should consider contacting your local Vocational Education Committee (VEC) to discuss other options with them.
