hey guys and gals, me and a friend might be getting a ke30 4door as a project soon, does anyone know where to get second hand or re-made panels for these shape corolla's?

passenger front door, rear quarters (only bottom really), frong wings (dented), bonnet and boot (both rusty)...

the rest of the car is fairly ok, but this will be our first resto projest so not much idea where to start looking lol, so any links and help appreciated :)

new panels for these cars are unavailable you may be lucky and come across some new old stock, You can get universal door bottoms for the doors these are just folded steel that you cut to length and weld in. As for the bonnet and boot lid a friend or mine might have these but he's on holls at now I'll find out when He gets home.

Very hard car to find panels for,you may find you will have to repair what you have, rather than replace.
    I'm currently restoring a '78 ke35 coupe,genuine irish car limerick reg,
I was lucky enough to find a new wing for the RHS at the Durrow show earlier in the year.
There was a guy advertising parts on Donedeal a few months ago,he wanted €200 for a bonnet, sadly I couldn't afford it at the time:(

The ke30 is a good reliable little car, mechanically very simple and easy to work on,but you will struggle to find body parts, most of those cars were rotten at 10-12 years of age.

best of luck with your project.

ah right...I'd hate universal, want direct-fit pieces as I want to stay away from filler and the likes as much as possible...want to get near 100% original lines with just metal lol.I hate filler, makes me feel like it would be a botch-up job
if you could find out that would be great, have to chase another few leads first aswell anyway.it always helps if you live on the internet like me haha

I only found this ke30 on tuesday of this week and have some possible parts already, but would be good to get some backups incase the others dont work out...if I would have found out about this earlier I would've looked around at the durrow show too, it is under 15mins down the road from me :)

mine will be a little more special as the minder (who will ask the owner on my behalf) will be giving a TA22 celica 1600 engine and 5-speed gearbox, along with rear axle and all in the price.SWEET :D

and thanks for the well-wishes, I feel that luck will be needed in a while...

I put a GT 20litre Twin cam celica engine on twin 48 webbers in one of these in the 80's . Some quick yoke i recon 0-60 in under 6 seconds.

Had to change the oil pump sump pick up and make a new sump because the KE 35 subframe bends the opposite way to the celica so you might have the same prob.

thanks for the heads up, I'll get the subframe off the 1600 engined ta22 aswell so and if needed adapt it to fit :)

btw anyone with anymore linke to panels, no?

    PM sent Nicky .
As i said great find and great to see another old Toyota getting a new burst of life .
Like posted above panels are non existant for ke20's and ke30's .
Probably a case of repair what ya have .
Filler is always thought of as a botch but it is inevitable in a restoration in the like of a ke30 .
By patching here and there your gonna have sections and repair pieces that will need filler for finishing before paint ,but if done properly will be perfectly good enough .Filler is a botch job when its just piled over the rust and used to fill gaping holes like most lads do . No matter what class of a paintjob you put over it ,it will be broken out within months .
Get her stripped down and structurally sound first (sills ,chassis legs etc.etc. ) and go from there .
Can go through all your removable panels then one by one and repair as nescessary .
All pointless though unless the chassis your bolting them too is solid .
The ke30's were and are serious for rot .
Best of luck with her .;)
    Also
Figure out how long you think it will take you and how much its gonna cost you and treble it .:D

@macautos: I plan to have it finished within a year of my free time if the chassis is solid...which i think is fair, the interior is all there and only the passenger front doorcard needs replacing, the rest is in great nick :)

costs wont be much as I need to invest in a CO2 welder for my garage anyway, I will be doing everything myself except sandblasting the bare shell and possibly painting.might do the prep and leave spraying for someone else to do although lately I have been thinking of moving towards bodywork too as opposed to just mechanics.
