    Lifted from the Datsun forums...
The video shows a Datsun 100A starting, car was in a shed since 1983, all four tyres were flat, all four brakes locked on, handbrake cable rusted through, roof been dented. Mmmmm a real jem. Took nearly 2 hours to get it out of its hiding place. Freed the clutch and all 4 wheels. Then we towed it down the road to get some compression into it, then hooked up fresh petrol and a battery, and off she went.
This car has fibreglass wings fitted. Mileage is 58,000

Car was registered 1st Jan '75 so just think this car was only 8 years old and the front wings had rotted off, that's like an 02 plate Micra rusting out. Shocking
Starts, runs, ticks over, exhaust not holed, alternator charges, lights work, incredibly, the brakes sort of work too.

Engine is running hot and steam and hot water pours out of the heater. Electric fan doesn't cut in.

But hey, 27 years , thats a REALLY long time. Datsun engines rule.

Apparently that car is to be broken for spares rather than be restored,
    shame really.

Thats what Datman says alright,it is a shame alright to be scrapped after all that time. Spose they cant all be saved! Still one of the simplest FWD cars to work on i reckon.

I'd say there's no floor left in it!

Hard to say, some of them can be surprising. Though Datsuns of that era are just spectacular rotters, even if you keep on top of things they still find ways to go rusty.

I've been to Will ( Datman's) yard a few times ,it is certainly an experience, don't believe everything you hear.

According to another site, the little Datsun has been sold to be used as a doner in the restoration of another,
so it won't die in vain.
