    Folks
Just wondering has an auld MF 165 enough hp for a power harrow, and if so which type would you recommend?
I've a few patches of rough ground (leased for years!) that I'd like to tinker with and over the course of time get the place back into good shape.
As you'll gather I don't spend much on my machinery!!

A 165 should be capable of handling a 2.30m power harrow but that would be at its limit. Maybe a 2.10m one would be more suitable seein as most 165s in the country wouldnt be putting out there rated hp considering they're anything between 35 and 45 years old. If you are going to be working unploughed ground it wont be too easy. Kill off the grass first at least as you shouldnt have as mush sods to deal with when levelling.

Good question. You'd pick one up for €1,500 but would be fairly worn and auld!
As for the 165, according to tractordata.com the engine has 58 horses while the pto only has 52hp!
Considering something like a 4wd DB 1490 as you'd pick one up handy and would have that bit of extra size and power. Should be better able for a bit of heavy work like harrowing as well;)
