speedo clock jumping?

    can anyone tell me why the speedo clock jumps up to thirty approx every 8 seconds on a7.5 ton tipper truck when it is swiitched of,is it something to do with tacho?,not to well up on the tacho side of things.

    Yep, it is probably a faulty sender unit on the gearbox that is causing the pulses giving you the jumpy needle. Not a tacho expert myself.

    think your right there,just put the gear box back in,although he said he checked it again,think he may go back to it.

    he couldnt get to it today but he says they plugged it in the way it was and when they unplugged it again that the tacho was still jumping which sounds weired to me,to be fair they are not a truck garage but i think something hasnt happened when they were putting the gearbox back in,any feedback would be appreciated guys.
