Is there a hole in the lid? If so use something as a lever to open it

Get a man to open it for you.

Get a tea towel & try to open it, it will give you grip.

But seriously, you're probably on the way out if you need a hot water bottle in July...even in Ireland.

No don't lever it, mine cracked using the handle of a small spoon to lever it.

you need a plyers - head on, works every time!

Run the opening bit under the hot tap.

I'm no doctor but.. it sounds like you need to turn on the gas and light a match.

It's far too hot for a hot water bottle. I have half of mind to go to bed with a cold water bottle tonight!

    Have a ****.

    That should warm the bed.

It would also give you the strength to open the bottle

What would you prescribe if you were a doctor?

    Cheers for the replies.
I have already used a knife and a clothes hanger try and open it. Didnt work. I dont have a plyers (must buy one next day) or a man to open it for me. will try hot water from the tap and the tea towel.

If tap water doesnt work leave it out in the sun... but then it is 10 at night now.

Pierce a hole in the side of it. That'll get the water out.

Move to a warmer country. No need for the hot water bottle then as the air will be nice and cosy.

You forgot to mention that you'll need a sticking plaster to stop the boiling water leaking out when you fill it again.

Wrist movement will sort this problem :)

A pair of rubber gloves will give you better grip, might be able to get it then

Well done you for making me vomit again. I tried to open it using the tea towel, and by holding it under the tap - no good. I fainted so had to go to bed again without my hot water bottle.

OP, my advice to you would be to get some sleep and arrange an appointment with your doctor in the morning.:pac:

And buy a new hot water bottle on the way home, oh and a pliers.:)
