64-bit OS too. I got an Mbox2 yesterday which was upgrade from a €100 EMU 0404 PCI card that had begun to annoy me. I was in the process of downloading the beta last night when I saw this post. I've already taken off PT LE 8.0.4 and reverted to Cubase 5 Studio as I might RTFM before jumping in and trying to learn PT on the fly but it worked for the few minutes I had it open anyway. The ASIO driver seems to be a joke though...having no trouble with the generic one or ASIO4Allv2.

Is that the ASIO driver that comes with the mbox?

I've been waiting to get Pro Tools for some time but didn't want to get it until it had full support for Windows 7.

Now that it supports 64 bit can it make use of bigger amounts of RAM do you know?

Yep, thats their own ASIO Digidesign Driver Mbox 2 (140ms). There is a Generic Low Latency driver (40ms) and I re-installed ASIO4Allv2 (12ms). I'm using Cubase here but while 40ms seems large it seemed to record ok which I was suprised at. The Digidesign one, within Cubase, was not useable.

PT installed in an Program Files (x86) directory for me which means the application itself is 32-bit so it won't make full use of a 64-bit Win 7 but it will run on it; unlike Cubase which has a 32-bit install and a 64-bit install. I've seen PT for only a few minutes so I can't really answer your question but if your PC has say 8G, then there will be more RAM available to the app as Win Vista/7 32-bit are limited to 4G which means PT or any app only has 4G minus whats loaded in memory when you boot up (including Windows) available to it. Maybe a seasoned user can answer this better or the PT forums

ya, you can have more ram in the computer, but until PT's 64bit, it wont use it..

Thanks for the reply. My laptop has 4gb RAM, just interested to know can PT take advantage of bigger amounts of RAM.

If I get PT I'll be buying the M-Powered version as I have an M-Audio interface. I hope the M-Audio ASIO driver works well as thats what I'll be using. I've used the ASIO4ALL driver before but not since I got my interface. Even though the option to choose ASIO4ALL is there in FL Studio it doesn't seem to work since I installed the other one.

That makes sense alright...it will only be able to see a max of 4G's. But if you are using a 64-bit version of Windows.....the OS itself and other software loaded in to memory can sit outside of the 4G space that PT can only utilise. So if you are using a 32-bit client of Windows, limited to 4G regadless of how many sticks you put in there, every program that's loaded, including the OS, are gonna eat up a chunk of that 4G leaving you with say a max of 3G for PT whereas if you have a 64-bit Win 7 client with 8G (the limit for it is 192G) there will always be that 4G available for PT to utilise.
