have sky plus in sitting room and im lookin to put some sort of fta in the bedroom. so my question is if i put a quad lnb on my sky dish........could i
run a feed of the sky dish and
get a second sky box in the room,
if i did this which fta channels would i receive,

if i put my sky card into it would i be able to view all my chanels from my sky package.
basically looking for the cheapest way to get the most channels

    any help much appreciated

It has indeed been answered a thousand times already. Anyway, in short you will get BBC 1,2,3 & 4. ITV 1,2,3 & 4. Five, Fiver, possibly Sky 3 and a host of Shopping Channels:D

You'll also get some movie, news, kids, music and a good few other channels aswell as radio.

Some are good others not so much, it does give a wider choice than just RTE & BBC etc.

Google FTA or Freesat for list

Just to point out that Fiver and Sky 3 are FTV and not FTA i.e. they require a FTV or subscription card to be received. Remember that a FTV or Freesatfromsky card is not officially available in ROI.

Read the final post closing that thread and I think you'll find that FTV cards are not officially available to those in ROI.

If you put the card in the box in the bedroom you may be able to receive thos FTV channels as well as all the FTA ones but if you have premium channels then you can only receive those in the box the card is paired to. And it used to be the case that a subscription paired card only works in one box but you could try.

I find that the old blue sky card will bring in the N.Ireland channels if you insert the card, let the box search for them, then remove the card. The channels will remain as long as you keep the box in stand by,but if power is lost, start again.

It's a pay TV taster now, "Freesat from sky". The old FTV card system is dead and buried. Fiver and Sky 3 are really a once off payment, not FTV as they are not Terrestrial channels designed to be FTA but having to be encrypted for geographic "rights" reasons. That's what FTV is. So there is "technically" no UK FTV scheme anymore. Sky only sell that "once off" sub (that can be upgraded to a monthly sub with more channels) to UK postcodes.
