Hi all, I live in a bog standard semi with a small bathroom which I want to completely gut and do up from scratch as everything in it is disgusting. I'll need to get the old suite taken out, buy a new suite and get it put in, take away any existing tiles, buy new ones, get a tiler to put them up. Want to tile and floor and the walls. Also there is a rad in there at the moment but I want to replace it with a heated towel rail.

I'm not planning on staying in the house forever, just until this recession starts to lift and people start buying houses again (whenever that'll be )
So in terms of fittings and tiles I'm thinking something middle of the road and classic.

Anyone any idea how much I should budget for this including labour?

I think the best deals can be had if you get everything (suite, tiles etc) in the one store - gives you more bargaining power. As to price, its really hard to say as it depends on size of bathroom, quality of fittings etc. I would estimate in the region of 3-5K. Hope this helps!

From 2.5 K to 3.7 K depending on what you want to do.

My parents just had theirs done. The bath was taken out and replaced with a quadrant shower, they got a new toilet, a washbasin with a vanity unit, the floor tiled and wall tiles removed and redone. It came to around €5,500 including the purchase of the tiles.

For that they got a really good job done.

We did something similar about 2 years ago, but as fas as I recall the price was quite a bit higher than those mentioned here, it was about €7,800. That was an all-in-one service from one company who supplied everything and provided the tiler, plumber, electrician, etc. We could have done it a bit less from the likes of B&Q but were determined to get a high quality job because you definietly don't want leaks and cracked tiles, etc. Although our job included replacing just a bath with a bath and a separate new electric shower, so there was probably mroe work there than your one would require. Even though the price was high, we were v happy with the job and I'd be happy to recommend the company if you're in the Dublin area.

if it is a standard replacement job,i.e. swop new for old. you can start at €2500. A bit extra for towel rail.
