    Just a quick one.

On Ryanairs online checkin, you get a useful little option to safe the details and file as a pdf. Handy as my laptop doesnt have a printer connected to it and I cant access the websites at work.

Does Aer Lingus do the same or do you have to print it the moment you access it?

    Thanks.

The AL boarding pass generates as a PDF as standard - so you can save it for printing later.

Alternatively, if you know the airport has a FastPass kiosk, you can choose the option to print it at the kiosk in the airport.

I don't know, but if you install one of the many free PDF printer utilities such as PrimoPDF (http://www.primopdf.com/index.aspx) you can print anything you like to a PDF file for future use.

    Nice one, thanks :D

I had one of those free PDF things, Word 2007 has one built in so I use that one. Not sure if I'd trust the jpeg compression on the free ones to accuately reproduce the barcode. :(

An Aer Lingus COLOUR boarding pass is only 60 Kilobytes in size.
A monochrome BP would be even smaller.

Thus one checks in online. Acrobat opens. One saves this to
    a PDF File. E.g. 10July_MUC_BP.pdf.

One can save it to an USB-Stick. One can send it as an email
attachment or store as an email draft.

When one has access to a PC or laptop with a printer, one
can print it with Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Whats the earliest you can check in online with aerlingus?

I'm used to travelling with Ryanair who let you check in days before and let you check in for your return journey.

Trying to check in for my return flight on Friday but it wont let me? This is annoying as I wont have access to a printer when I'm abroad....

Aer Lingus don't charge a fee to print a boarding pass at the airport though. So you can check in online and just not print it.

Aer Lingus only allow check in online 30hr before the flight.

Remember also that online check-in isn't compulsory with Aer Lingus.

I noticed that when I tried. Utterly stupid. Should be at least a week.

Why? Up to 30 hours before check in people need to pay to get the seat they want. They woudl not want to lose that easy revenue. It might be cheap and annoying but certainly not stupid.

The main point surely is that with Aer Lingus you don't _need_ to check in online , unlike Ryanair who severely penalise you if you _don't_ check in online.
