are ye well. on friday i bought a classic army svd and got it monday in the post. all was well and excellent until today when it started firing about 2-3 round bursts on semi-automatic:(.....Nooo:eek:

That wasn't awful but it worried me. the real problem was when it didnt fire at all about 5 minutes later.

i've put about 200 rounds through it in total and the battery was charged this morning(8.4v stick) and the trigger pull now feels like it slips. if i pull it halfway it then slips the rest of the way so im sure it's not the battery.

the svd has a 28 day warranty. should i return it to be safe or can i fix it myself, i've a good knowledge of the internals from modifying other aeg's but did'nt open this one just so that I would'nt void the warranty

    cheers for any help

When you say the battery was charged this morning
Do you mean that you charged it this morning or that you left it on charge overnight

as other said return it if you have the warranty, the problems you describe are not to do with the battery would go with mechanical issues within the gearbox resulting in the bursts your experiences

Agreed, I know the worst thing ever is to get a new AEG you have been waiting for and have to bring it back but it would be worse if you had the new AEG lying in bits not working :)

Return it :) wait the little extra time and enjoy it when you get it back
