Website for finding races near you

I've created a website (racehive.com) that lists running/multisport and other endurance events in Ireland. It allows you to select a location close to you, and find events within a certain distance. Note that it's "as the crow flies", so races will be further away than you expect.

It's free to use and will only be useful long term if it has the races listed, so you're encouraged to add any missing events. You most likely won't need to create an account to add events, as you can use a login you have already from others such as Facebook, Google, Yahoo.

    Hope you find it useful.

p.s. It looks terrible with Internet Explorer 6, so avoid that if you can :-)

    nice site imo

If you can keep the site updated with all races then you will have filled a nice hole in the market

    2 suggestions from me
add the cost of the race
and add whether the distance is AAI credited

One things that annoys runners is an incorrectly measured course...especially a short one.

Yes, good suggestions. Price would have to be a text, as events tend to double up, e.g 1/2 marathon/10km, so pricing might be €45/€25.

Was initially against AAI one - as in anyone could fib. But surely not :) It sorts of fits into a "tagging" feature, some tags like AAI accredited make sense for running, whereas "TI sanctioned" would make sense for triathlons.

Anyway it got me thinking some more..

Looks good - what about putting the location of the race on the Main Screen as well?

Your date for Tulfarris 10 mile is wrong.

    It's on 7th August.

I think you're mixing it up with The Lakes 10k.

ETA - Sorry, meant to say great website. Well done. I usually use the map thing on runireland but this makes it even easier to find out what's on.
