Hi, I live near to a site owned by an outdoor advertising company. The planning permission for the billboards lapsed, they were refused retention permission and eventually Dublin County Council served orders and brought them to court. A week before the case reached court they took the billboards down, so the case was thrown out. 2 weeks odd later, ie today, They are putting new ones up.

I have rang the enforcement department of the council and they say there is nothing they can do. I must send in an official form ( which I've done ) and they'll open a new case and presumably start the whole serving orders, court route again ( which took a huge amount of time the last time as thay just reapplied a few times for slightly different permissions, each time delaying the start of the court case ). I've rang the Guards and there's nothing they can do. Also tried a local councillor who'll "get back to me"

Anyone any ideas how to get it stopped, or is this really the way the planning laws work in this country?

short of contacting your enforcement section... which you have done.... theres nothing else much you can do. Due process must be followed.

as this thread borders on legal issues it is a breach of the forum charter and thus will be locked.
