Cramping while swimming

    Hi All,

Do any of you suffer calf cramp while swimming?
It has happened me a few times in OW swims recently and I would like to know how to stop it.
I was fully hydrated each time, so that is not the issue.

The most recent one happened in Athlone at the weekend and my calf is still sore. What can I do to release the cramp now?

Any advice, tips, tricks etc would be appreciated.

    NT

This used to happen to me in the pool a couple of months back. Things that I think may help:
Time in the water: ie how many sessions are you getting in in the week. After a while your muscles get used to it, at least that's how it felt for me.
Berocca: I found that taking a Berocca about 30 to 40 mins before a swim helped (there is magnesium in Berocca which helps prevent cramps)
Water: I knowyou said you were hydrated but having a bottle by the pool side and sipping it during the recovery time also helps I feel.

Hope that may be of some help to you.
