Was going to buy a new car until I received a wonderful paycut from my lovely employers.

Now I've just been keeping an eye out for a bargain of sorts, something that I can rely on for the next few years, my current Punto is falling apart and I have a feeling it's going to end up costing me a lot of money I don't have.

So, what about this? First impressions seem good...

Any thoughts? Might give him a call, anything in particular to look out for? Anyone care to take a wild guess as to the engine size?

Im sure its a fine car and will almost last forever, my guess at the engine size would be a 2.ltr diesel

This being Ireland and that being Irelands most favourite car, for cheap, in diesel, with comparatively low mileage and the ad already being up for more than half an hour...

    ....I'd say it's sold already:D

Judging by the 2.0D badge on the back.......:p

Looks like a very clean one, but I'd be trying to get the price down a bit more than that. If it's mechanically perfect, it'll keep going for years, even if you miss out on some servicing etc.

If I was a bank manager and this yoke pulled up ouside the door, I'd call the gaurds for fear of 3 scumbags from ( insert sh!thole) were about to jump out and rob the place.

Lifes too short to plug around in this archaic rat trap. Sure it might last forever but so does spent uranium and thats not a good thing either.

Over €220 per quarter in tax... that's a lot more than the €80 I currently pay :(

they also come in 1.6 petrol. still good on fuel as they weighed about much as the brochure did.

The leanburn petrol was quite a good engine in that car, also worth a look with cheaper tax and insurance.

In fairness, whats the point in trying to look for a petrol to save a few quid on tax. Its only 140 quid more over the year for a 2L than a 1.6, you'll save that and more in fuel with the diesel.

The amount of those things resurfacing around Dublin again is amazing, especially with taxi drivers, and they all seem to be 96 or 97.
