Kickboxing - training shoes?

We train barefoot on a gym floor, and my feet always break out in blisters. They really hurt, and it's difficult to move.

Is there anything I can buy to prevent this happening?

I really need to keep the soles of my feet covered somehow.

These are open at the sole

Get yourself a pair of mat shoes to wear while they heal... if you're a size 9, you're in luck I have a pair on sale in our shop for only 10 euro :)

is it happening all the time or just when you take break and go back training?

Budo shoes... you can get them in Mullens Sports, not expensive.
Just check with your instructor first before wearing... and dont wear off the mat as this will increase the risk of fungal infections to others in bare feet.

All the time. We don't train on mats, just on a gym floor (basketball court, hardwood).

I'm fine when wearing trainers, but when we go barefoot, I break out in blisters.

Its probably that your just not used to being barefoot. It takes a little longer, but if you just walk around as much as possible barefoot, your feet will toughen up, and get used to being scuffed around, same as getting blisters on your hands if not used to manual work. Its uncomfortable at 1st but will be better in the log run. As you wont be allowed to wear footwear in competitions. You will get used to having that bit of extra grip which can put off your technique a bit later if you choose to compete.

Same for wrestling with shoes or barefoot.

as MarkFairman said go barefoot as much as possible and toughen up the skin.

This happens to me if I have an enforced break for a few weeks but once the skin heals it should grow back tougher and as a result shouldn't blister.
