Ok this has gone past my basic level of plumbing knowledge - got a new monobloc tap for the kitchen sink and found this thing that looks like some kind of pressure reducer or filter - any suggestions - do I need to install it. The tap is a Deva Sezana single lever mono sink mixer, cold water is mains pressure and hot water is gravity feed, if that helps. Thanks in advance of welcome knowledge....

It actually looks like a non return valve and might be to stop the cold traveling up the hot if you have something over the tap like a hose for example.

If it is a non return valve make sure its fitted in the right direction as the line its fitted to wont supply water if its not.

Yes, it has an arrow on it so I presume it's go with the flow. Cheers Joey
