    Well the knowledge economy is simply a fianna fail buzzword so I was never convinced we had one in the first place. I hope for my sake that the UK has one!

    The question is how do we convince them that this investment is how we progress on a global stage.

    Look at the minimum investment needed for some of our more profitable home grown companies. Several I know of started on the back of PhD's that our government is now refusing to fund. I'd love to turn this into a political debate but TBH there is seemingly no other party that has the business acumen for the future, let alone one with a love of just knowing all there is to know as most people have shown they want, lest I be mistaken.

    and that is the attitude of our government.
    What would you have us do?
    I think what people are missing is that, the simple fact, investment takes time.
    It's ignorance that misses this point.
