problem with bora

    Hi All

    Just wondering if anyone can help me, my friend has a Volkswagen Bora 1.9 130bhp.When driving it yesterday at a steady 60mph, it sounded like the car was revving every now and then? Does anybody know what could it be or had this problem before? Someone told her it may be the turbo going and heard its a lot of money to repair! She is going to the garage with it at the end of the week.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    She probably wouldn't know what clutch slip is. If the engine speed was varying without a corresponding increase in vehicle speed then it could be clutch slip. Does it do it more at a certain speed or under acceleration? Does it do it at idle?

    is it a standard 130bhp or remapped to 130? what year and milage??

    its standard 130bhp, 03, mileage 101.
    she said that the clutch was fine when changing gears! it was just revving 2 or 3 times when she was driving it to work (about 15miles). doesnt do it when at idle. hopefully it will be sorted by the end of the week, bringn it to her mechanic on friday

    Could be a number of things, e.g MAF or vacuum leak. Best bet is bring it to mechanic and get the faults read as she seems to be doing Friday. It could literally be anything.
