Too little too late tbh. Been released March worldwide and we have to wait 5 months for it.

Apple site still says coming in July. I guess they mean the very end of July. :/

[edit] According to this site the release date is late September/October.

Correction: 3 Ireland will not be selling the Apple iPad nor will it be available in 3 Stores from early August.

Will the iPad sales be allied to a phone company e.g. O2 or will it be sold freely as an Apple product through their stores and retailers?

"3 Ireland will not be selling the Apple iPad nor will it be available in 3 Stores from early August."

"3 is mostly likely planning to sell the Wi-Fi + 3G model through its stores and not the Wi-Fi only model."

so are they selling it or not?

I'd imagine that the online Apple Store wont be the only place to purchase a iPad. Im sure that the likes of the O2 and Vodafone stores will sell them along with Carphone Warehouse.

Apple have seriously shot themselves in the foot by delaying the iPad. As things stand both the iPhone 4 and the iPad will be released almost simultaneousness, which will take the limelight off each product.
