Clay bar with shampoo?

    M8 got his porsche detailed in the UK over the weekend.

    He's into his detailing himself and does the full monty with clay, deep clean, wax etc. This time he left it to a pro however.

    He was a bit surprised to see the fella use a shampoo solution as a replacement for the mequaires speed detailer etc that we all use.
    He was using the sonos (spelling) bar with it. He reckoned it was as good as the speed stuff and more importantly for him only a fraction of the cost.

    Might give it a try myself (on the starlet maybe). I guess its more cost effective for someone that doing it every day though.

    Anyone esle come across this?

    Any soapy water will do. You just need something to act as a lubricant.
