There isn't anything bad on that list for certain.
Only two matches from Japan is a bit of a disappointment but it's probably to be expected.

Taker, HBK, Bret tied for most matches with 5 I think.

Surprised that Angle vs Benoit topped the list to be honest(for obvious reasons) but yeah its definitely a little bit WWE heavy, NWA/WCW and ECW and even TNA really should've been represented on the list..

Fair play to ya Mr Sobchek for all your work in this. Congrats man:)

I'm honestly surprised to see Eddie/Brock that high up. It was an excellant match no doubt, but 3rd? Also, the amount of WWE matches in it is amazing.

It's an excellent list. 25 top class matches. Well done everyone

Good man Walty......I thought there was gonna be another round now though where we ranked this list in order of preference.

Ah no sure tis grand the way it is, not sure why I had that in my head tbh.

Sad that Kobashi/Misawa vs taue/Kawada didn't make the cut but I did expect it to be a WWE heavy list in fairness.

Yeah thats definitely one of the big omissions, Punk vs Joe II, and KENTA vs Low Ki are other glaring omission's imho.

Its a fine list but it does look a bit silly without a Chris Masters match:o

Maybe Walter next you can do top 100 Chris Masters matches and we can narrow it down from that? :o

Think of all the matches you would leave out narrowing it down to just 100.

6: Bret Hart vs Stone Cold Steve Austin.. WWF Wrestlemania 13.. 1997

13:Bret Hart vs Stone Cold Steve Austin.. WWF Wrestlemania 13.. 1997

This match was so good that it placed twice.

For what it's worth 5 matches on the list were awarded the full 5 snowflakes by Dave Meltzer, although I'd said a few are around the ****3/4 area.

Woops:o i'll fix that now, its supposed to be their match at Survivor Series

Yeah the Benoit/Jericho vs HHH/Austin match is ****3/4 for sure..

I should really get around to starting the wrestlers of the past discussions I talked about in that topic haha I'll get around to starting a topic on someone this week.

Thanks for all the work you put into this too, Walt. I'll certainly be referring back to them when bored and looking for something to watch.

can I get a link to the discussion thread?:)

How come "19:The Undertaker vs Mankind.. WWF KOTR 1998" is on the list twice?
Are one of them supposed to be KotR '96?

(+1 on the past wrestlers discussion)

Oh and also, do people forget Undertaker/Michaels' three other matches they had?

PPS. do ye use the Internet Wrestling Community "rating" system at all? I've seen threads on other forums just cluttered with "oh that's ***3/4 for .... I'm at *** for that one... I go up to **** for that match..."

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,083 ✭✭✭waltersobchak

Fixed.. I dunno how i managed that, replaced by the outstanding Funk vs Lawler Empty Arena match from 1981

I like to use it sometimes because for some reason it really annoys people.:pac:
