The battery light keeps turning on while im driving and goes away after a few seconds.
I was told it could be the alternator not charging?
Does anyone know how much it would cost to fix this or is there anyway i could find out myself for definate that its the alternator?

Is it cheaper to take out the alternator and get it fixed and put it back in or is it easier to just buy a new one and replace it?
Can anyone let me know how much it would cost roughly?
    Thanks :)

Could be the battery that's gone too, is it old?

Its 9 years old but it only turns on when im driving roughly 100kms an hr and it turns on then turns off

It could be but i was told if its only turning on at that stage it more than likely means that the alternator isnt charging

Might it be a belt slipping? I would check the belt tension to rule that out.
