I joined UTV Internet on 13/01/2010, I had my landline still with Eircom(Moved house).

Now the 6 months is up(Is it?) Vodafone say they will do all the work!
Is this true? Or do I have to tell UTV i'm switching.

And yes, I know they charge €29.99 to cancel. (6 months+)

Both Eircom(line rental) and Utv(broadband) are 6 month contracts.

Anybody been in this situation already.

    Getting 24mb:o

    I've been with

    Eircom
    BT
    ESAT
    UTV

My parents are with Vodafone(switched from BT), there 3mb seems fine!
They can't get better than 3mb though.

If I don't get what I pay for then i'll complain.

Have you checked your line quality to see what it is capable of?

I would be reluctant to leave the administrative stuff to any isp. I would make sure and confirm the cancellations myself but then I am just an old cynic:)
Dont forget that with most isps you are required to give a month's notice even when your initial contract period has expired.

friend of mine has just left vodafone, they were awful

paying for a 7Mb line but mostly got less than 1Mb
they dropped him to lower packages to see if it made any difference.
it didn't, could never understand that logic, speed to slow so put u on a slower line.

even at 3am he would only get 3 - 4mb

he's now with upc and can't believe he constantly has over 14mb on his 15mb line even during peak times.

    Well I currently get 8mb or 6.5(actual)

So if my 24mb isn't up to snuff then i'll cancel the contract.
Also I have to wait a month. Because its written in the contract to give a months notice!
