Dig up old floor ?

    My first post , please move if not in right place.
    I viewed a house ,built in 1930's as far as I know.
    EA said there was damp on bottom of the stairs .
    He said the old floor would have to be taken up and new cement and damp
    proofing put in .
    The floor area is about 40 m2 .

    How big a job would this be ( time and money ) ?
