Enagaement Ring - advice required

Hi would like some thoughts on an enagement ring.

Girlfriend has her mind set on a Platinum Ring – Knifed edged. 6 claw (or the Tiffany setting).

Carat Weight 1.0 carat (or near enough to it).

Round Brilliant Cut

Colour – G/F

Clarity – VS1/VS2.

Let me know peoples thoughts.

would you recommend buying in Dublin/London/Antwerp?

Would you recoomend diamonds.ie?

We have got some quotes and costs are varying alot.

All help welcomed??

personally, I wouldn't recommend bothering to go to london or antwerp, you can get just as good value here without the time/cost of taking a flight somewhere. how much are the quotes differing in price? have you tried voltaire? they should be able to source the ring you want, but will almost certainly beat any irish retailer's price. oh - and it sounds like a really nice ring btw

Hi Rida,

I got engaged recently and went to Antwerp the weekend before last to buy the ring.

I was definitely worth it, in terms of cost savings. Price your ring in ireland, know what the different prices are depending on 4 Cs.

We spent under €2000 after and definitely got the price of the flights, hotel and food out of it.

Nearly forgot, Try and be there for a weekday, as the diamond district is mainly Jewish and very few open on saturday, and on Sunday, not all the places and diamond setters are open either.

Go down to Brugee for a night too, well worth it, Not a massive amount todo or see in Antwerp.

I'd try Voltaire Diamonds in Dublin before going further a field, we got our there and i'm so happy with it, had tried galway and athlone and dublin, but was most happy with Voltiare Diamonds, very professional and competitive...worth the look

i bought the one for my missus from amazon, it was perfect, you could buy it and had thirty days to view/reject it. it was alot cheaper than stores here.
