    Hi there,

Im in the market for a flat panel TV and was wondering what screen size i need to get the best viewing. I will be sitting approx 14 feet from the screen, will a 47" do the job here?

Viewing will be mostly SD sky digital and blueray, may upgrade to Sky HD soon. what about type, LCD, Plasma or LED - any recommendations for a budget not nore than 1K

    Thanks,

    X.

14 feet - personally I would say you are looking 47" upwards, if it was me probably 50"-60".

I would suggest you take a wander round the various TV stockists (DID, Powercity, Harvey Normans, Peats, etc.) to get a sense of certain models, how they look, price, etc... You can then note down a few model numbers and do some google'ing to see what feedback is out there. TrustedReviews is one site that might help, although as with anything online you need to keep things in perspective.

Panasonic is probably one of the leading makes, followed by the usual suspects, Sony, Samsung, LG, etc.

If you are unsure on size, when you have a few models selected get there dimensions off the web, and dummy up the size with some newspaper or cardboard, so you can see how it will look from your viewing distance.

    There's my 2 cents worth...
