    Hi Guys,

for various reasons ie: pain, fear, expense I have put off going to the dentist for so many years.

My teeth are never painful but i am starting to have problems with plaque buildup and receeding gums. I do brush but never flossed in my life, something which i will start doing from here on in.

I have noticed today a hole in the back of one of my 4 front bottom teeth on the gum line, its not painful at all but i keep catching my tongue on it and am aware its there, wouldnt like to loose a front tooth so will be seeing the dentist during the week.

my question is: currently im unemployed so not much money, can i attend a dentist for an exam / consultation and get him to address the issues with this tooth and advise on any other issues but mabey not necessarly get further work done?

any idea on costs involved, in a initial exam & maybe 1 filling (hopefully) am based in portlaoise.

    thanks

Go for a check up, it will cost about €50, the dentist will then give you the low down on what you need done and the costs involved, you can take it from there

Dont be afraid of dentists, putting the knee on the chest of patients was outlawed after independence

Agreed would be a very odd place for a cavity.....

Correct & Right - Lesson Learned look after teeth and dentist is not the big bad he was when i was a kid, altho he didnt break out any injections or i would have ran away screaming like a little girl. is there gas they can give when doing fillings?

a good clean but i have to get two fillings down the line, gonna leave it a few weeks until i get the money together, in the meantime i can tourture myself by flossing

    thanks guys
