How to get audit experience?

    Well lads,
    Due to qualify in the next week or so as a chartered accountant touch wood and no experience literally no experience auditing as previously worked in small practice doing accounts prep, compliance and tax. Never saw an audit program pack never mind fill one in. The furthest I went was sending out a bank letter all companies were audit exempt.
    Anyway I have come to the conclusion that I need audit and do you think I'm mad applying for graduate audit junior positions as an almost qualified CA.
    Was even contemplating trying to arrange doing voluntary work in another practice for 9 months like WPP scheme with FAS. Just seems I qualified from the wrong place at the wrong time (aka an overqualified bookkeeper).
