    Hi,

I left my camera in a taxi last night. Got picked up on the junction of Finglas Road and Old Finglas Road for a fare to Ranelagh.

If there are any taxi drivers out there that may have heard of anyone finding a camera in their taxi last night could you please let me know as there are photos of a Christening I attended yesterday on the camera.

    Many thanks,

    D

You could try the Carriage Office ,the vast majority of drivers are honest and trustworthy and most would hand lost items in.

However you have to realise also that the driver may not have spotted your camera and it is possible that the next passenger/s might have taken it .

But don't give up ,I wish you well .

just remember that many passengers on finding items in the back of taxis will give them to the driver but there are a lot of scumbags out there too.

were there others at the christening with cameras? you could probably get extra prints off someone if all else fails.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, I took the bulk of the photos on the day so really hoping that I can come across the camera.

The camera in question is the model below:

    PANASONIC-DMC-FZ38-sort-Etui-til-spejlreflekskamera-Reflex-SDHC-hukommelsesk-0.jpg

It would have been in a black camera bag (think the make of the bag is Hama) and there would also have been a spare battery in the bag.

Tried ringing the carriage office but no answer so far but will keep trying. Also tried both Garda stations (Finglas & Rathmines) but no joy yet.

PS. If there are any taxi drivers reading this can you please ask friends / colleagues if they may have taken this run on Saturday night.

    Many thanks,
    D

That's a pity. Looks like a good camera too.

That is a shame but there's zero chance it's coming home. The carraige office won't answer the phone. You'll need to go in. Best of luck, I know the feeling.

For whatever reason best known to themselves ,I have heard numerous times over the years of people trying to get through to the carriage office ,but the Gards in the CO never answer the phone. Its incredible .
The only thing you can do is go into them ,its situated in Dublin Castle

    +1

I guess they have nothing to do now that the Taxi Regulator does most of their old duties so they're probably fast asleep.

The Carriage Office isn't located in Dublin Castle anymore; it's now based in Santry Garda Station since about May.

Lost Property in Dublin now is handled in Tallaght, Store Street, Irishtown, Shankill and Finglas. Try one of these stations in the next few days as it may take a bit of time for the camera to be left in.

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply, yeah, found the list of the five stations and have called all five with no joy. Will leave it a week and see if anything gets handed in in the meantime but to be honest not holding out much hope.

Pity as I had got some really nice photos of the Christening that day.
