buying sky+hd box

    Hi , Can i buy a sky+hd box off Sky as the one i have is out of Warrenty and is very troublesome.
    Is there an alternative machine i can buy that is high dif and can take my sky card.

    You can buy a Dreambox and change one line in the cccam.cfg file - add to this the boxkey from your existing Sky box and it will then be matched with your card and you will get all channels (and a lot more then you can currently get in Ireland!).

    You have to be fairly technical to do this - if this is not an option then check out eBay for a SkyHD box.

    Yeah Ofcourse you can, there's a few different types of boxes. They start from around €40 and can be as expensive as €100 with new remotes etc.

    The boxkey is a number that is derived from the serial number of your Sky Box - it is this 8 digit number that is tied to your viewing card.

    TBH - Ronans link above looks good unless you want to take the step of learning how to configure a Dreambox. The payoff is extra HD channels tho

    Does anyone know if you get a refurbished box from Sky do they have a new PSU in them?
