What would one expect to pay for a regular service on a E90 320d? Mine is due soon and want to ensure I dont get overcharged. :).

€143 for JUST an oil service? Man, I'm glad I service my car myself!

If you're car is outside the original warranty then I suggest a good BMW specialist. I see that you are in Limerick so I would recommend these guys just off the Ennis Road:

Got two wishbones fitted to my S40 by them recently, they were reasonably priced and found them very nice to deal with. Marc knowns his BMWs.

Value service applies to E46 only, the OP has an E90.

In fairness, it needs 5.5L of 0w30/5w30 oil, and its €54.99 for 4L of castrol edge.

The oil filter is about €15 from the dealer, and they change the microfilter too which is another €15ish.

So in total they are probably charging 40 or 50 quid more to do it than if you bought all the bits and did it yourself, and your getting dealer history.

I do my own oil and airfilter changes, and I use bosch parts instead of dealer parts, but for a dealer service it aint outrageous for the E46.

True, but some aren't able to change their own oil like others ;)

True isn't, its actually easier to do the oil than on most cars, but as the old saying goes its easy when you know how :)

Do not get a service in a main dealer, they have a bunch of idiots that don't give a rats ass about what they are doing. I left my BMW in when I first got it for a full service in graham BMW letterkenny(since went belly up) and they charged 400 euro for it.That would be grand for a full service. However they spilled more liquid around the engine bay than they got into the engine.including brake fluid which stripped some of the paint off, they did not replace or even open the air filter as i opened it a day later to find a crisp bag and 3 leafs in the air-box.They didn't tighten the handbrake, they left the engine cover plastics loose.

i'm not sure about other dealers as this was just my experience with a main dealer. I'd recommend you find a specialist/enthusiast to service your car, someone who takes pride in what they are doing.

hence the reason they went belly up imo.
i would of been straight onto BMW Ireland if that happened to me.

Who is that comment aimed at? I don't see how it's relevant to any of the posters here.

Are you just copy-and-pasting your "advice" into every BMW servicing thread?
