Horsetail - the demon weed!

Anyone got a way of getting rid of horsetail weed? I've heard that a dose of nitrogen to the soil will do the trick, on the basis that horsetail grows where the soil is v short on nutrients ......... if that's the case then I'm even more depressed!!!! Donal

Brushwood works for me, but you may have to go over them twice - they are a nusiance.
