Question - Blessing a place where someone died

I just have a quick question that I'm sure some of you guys can clarify for me.

In Catholicism, is it customary for a priest to bless the place where someone has died? For example, if someone died suddenly in a bar, would it be normal for a priest to want to say some prayers there and do a blessing of the place where the person died? The reason I ask is that I heard about someone dying, a priest actually, and other priests wanted to bless the place where he died but were refused access as it was a private business. I'm not sure if it's correct at all, I found it a little hard to believe so I just thought I'd ask you guys.

    Hi Marty1985,

No I don't think this is customary at all...

Sometimes a priest may bless your home if he visits and you ask him to do so, but other than that they don't generally bless places where a Catholic has passed away...

    ..sounds odd indeed!

As the poster above said, this is not standard practice. Praying for the dead is.
