Hope this is in the right place!
Myself and OH are going from Sligo to Dublin in a few weeks (one way only) and I'd heard that sometimes the online site has special offers for certain times of travel. From what I know, a single ticket from Sligo to Dublin is €32 if you buy it from the machine in the station. On investigating the date we are travelling on, it seems there are 2 travel times where it is €10 to travel, and the rest are down as €22. What I'm wondering is, is the €22 fare accurate or are they just using it as a 'half the price of a return ticket due to it being half the journey' or is it genuinely €22? And also if we do decide to book the tickets online, do we collect at the local ticket office?
Sorry if this seems a really silly question!

The price shown on the website is what you pay for that portion of the journey; a return trip is simply the sum of both legs of the trip. The only add on that you will encounter is a booking fee if you use a credit card to pay (I think it's just €2); otherwise what you see is what you pay. The €22 is close to half the ordinary return ticket while the €10 is a discounted price.

Each train potentially has a different fare, 10 euro on trains at off peak times.

You can collect at any station with a ticket vending machine and some ticket office, there is a list to choose from when you book.

Booking office fares depend on the day you travel.

Monday-Thursday & Saturday Sligo to Dublin is EUR 32 single (and indeed day return), while on Friday and Sunday the single (and monthly saver return fare) is EUR 44.

Online the fares are as you see them - either EUR 22 or EUR 10 one way. You can collect them at the station or have them posted to you.

Thanks for the replies guys, a saving is a saving so I think I'll be booking online no matter what. Even if it isn't a €10 fare for the time we travel, €22 is still a tenner cheaper than standard fare in the station!
How did I never know about this before!! :D
