    Yes.

We all do daft things but if we turn out to be good responsible citizens in the end, we're all on the right side of the track of life.

In the grand of scheme of things I was actually a pretty decent teenager, just the usual drinking, smoking, girls, staying out later than I should and then making up some sh1te excuse.

It's largely part of growing up and did me no harm in the long run so yeah, I suppose I'd be fine with it.

In theory, yes Id be fine with it! What I did as a teenager formed who I am today. It did me no harm/gave me great experiences/memories/learned life lessons blah blah blah. What mammy didnt know couldnt hurt her :D

Altho at the same time I am also aware how dangerous a lot of the stuff I did was. So if my imaginary kids were doing it and I knew, Id be worried sick and pissed off.

Wouldn't mind at all......I did the usual stuff, mitching, rec drugs, bit of bush drinking but always knew enough not to get into serious trouble as I had respect for others and their property etc.....

I am already shocked and appalled by my younger cousins actions, and have to actually shake myself up every so often and realise that I was far worse at their age. For some reason we all think that we were far more capable of handling these situations. So going by my irrationalities with my cousins, my future kids will be barracaded indoors untill they are 18! They will hate me! (daughters that is, sons can do whatever they like, and I will be mighty proud :D)

I was such a responsible teen and i'm very responsible now..ive never smoked, mitched(sports day don't count) and I did'nt drink until I was 18..I wouldnt change a thing either actually..but i'd like to see my kids be wilder than I was/am within reason..

Well I had my daughter when I was a teenager so I may have to rearrange a few dates :pac: Still with her Dad though :D

I would be very very disappointed over drinking and smoking but I suppose it's just a phase alot of teenagers go through?

I dunno. When i look at my nieces and nephews and think bout what i was up to at their age, i wonder how i got away with it, and i wonder what i'd do if i ever catch my own kids doing what i was up to.
But i turned out ok(i think) so i'd be hypocritical if i went off on one at them.

I can understand a parent being a bit uncomfortable with the idea of their children getting up to crazed alcohol/drug/sex-fuelled shenanigans when they reach their teens - it's reasonable to fear that they might over-do things/contract a STD etc, so asking them to be careful is a good idea (if perhaps awkward :pac:). I can understand too, people who became parents extremely young maybe preferring that their children would leave it til later to have kids.

But I can't stand when parents who were "wild" themselves act horrified by fairly run-of-the-mill student life partaying that's no worse than what they did themselves, and have a "Oh mine will be watched like a hawk - they definitely won't be doing what their parents did" take. Sickening hypocrisy, especially when they turned out ok and managed to deal with these things fine overall themselves. I also chuckle at those parents who become all "revisionist" with their "Looking back, I didn't really enjoy it at the time - I'd keep away from all that if I had my time back again". Yeah ****ing right! :pac:

Of course I'm not including extreme cases, e.g. parents who are recovering heroin/crack/meth addicts - I'd understand them going to any lengths whatsoever to prevent their children from going down the same road...

Would that not be a bit of an awkward situation/conversation to have with a teenager?
