The Top Gear Test Track is one of the reason i would buy GT5 over any other driving game, even if it was inferior in every other way (it's not even close,GT5 is that great). This inclusion that has been known for a long time and here is some video and the Top Gear blog.

Better have the reasonably priced car though.

It be nice to have all the reasonably priced cars they've used with the lap time to compare against for each car. I wonder if/when it'll get mention on the show, Clarkson did that comparison once between lap times in the game and using a real car.

the novelty will wear off that pretty quick. i'd be more interested to see if the track editor and weather actually happens. day/night cycles should be good too.

I'm in the same boat purely cos on some tracks it's faster to do 180mph around a corner with an armco barrier instead of braking. But this one finally has car damage!
I'm even going to invest in a steering wheel for this one

ill give it a go alright, hopefully it sways me over to its side, but i think im more an arcade racer guy than these uber realistic petrolhead w4nkfests tbh

on standard physics GT is fairly arcadey. you might be lucky

from what ive played i didnt really care for the handling tbh

burnout paradise or split second handle just right for my liking, gt5 feels completely left of field from what im used to... if im not oversteering im understeering

Was that standard or what, from what i've see it makes a big difference. With the amount of time this game has taken if a feature could possible be included in a racing game i'm sure this will have it, but who knows how good it will be implemented. I think this will be a big improvident over my last most played driving game Porsche Challenge, considering i only had 3 games then, there wasn't much competition.

Would anyone want head tracking enough to buy the eye or move bundle? if i have it then will probably use it a lot of the time.

The old GT's with 6 cars in a race were terrible. You couldn't even flip a car. As long as it's not too hard like Grid I think i'll like it. I also think a decent enough steering wheel will make it a lot better.
Although you'll look like a gimp sitting on a couch with a steering wheel and pedals.

I don't mean to sound like an old bore but you cannot compare GT5 with Blur etc. I loved all the GT games so far and I'm not bothered in the slightest about damage or track editors I'm all about the handling and the car physics. The handling is fantastic and goes for all out realism compared to an arcade feel. If your serious about the game then a wheel is the only option I haven't looked back since I got the Logitech Driving Force wheel.

The top gear track will be great for the Online side of things as you can watch events and see others do a lap etc. Can't wait for November :)

The old Gran tourismos were terrible for car handling. They would over steer or understeer but cars couldn't spin out!
Toca Race Driver 3 on the PS2 is my favourite driving game ever. Rally wasn't great on it, but great variety and best realism.

wouldn't mind a stig ghost to race against taken from the testing of the cars on the show, but that's probably too much to ask.

I am very disappointed there will be no Mondello Park! :(
NFS Pro Street and few other Driving Games could have Mondello Park but big GranTurismo5 won't

Top Gear Test Track... well... some kind of candy for my tears

Apparently I look like a gimp simply 'playing 'puter games' according to the OH. Beats Greys Anatomy in m book though.

I have this track for GTR Evolution. Its a lot of fun, and the crossover section makes racing very interesting, almost like a destruction derby!

But GTR Evolution doesn't have the Stig.
