    Hi folks,

Looks like I'm going to be dependent on 3G mobile broadband for a few months.

What is the best way to share the connection between multiple computers?

Would it work to put the 3G dongle in one machine and then connect the wireless router to the same machine?

    Would be grateful for advice!

well,if you want the easiest way ... you can use windows to share the connection from the 3G to the Wireless card in the computer...This way you can avoid the need to hook up a router to it and thus you can move it (you're gonna use a laptop, correct?).
Just share the connection to wireless card and then set up Ad-hoc networking.

    Thanks guys.

I'll be using it in the house and the connection will be used by two laptops and a desktop.

Is it possible to plug the 3G card into the desktop and then plug a wireless router into the desktop via ethernet cable and share the wireless connection that way?

Yup,no problems whatsoever, just share the connection to Local Area Network (or whatever your Ethernet card connection is called) and then hook it up to the router's WAN/Internet port and you're set. Just don't expect too much of the connection if all 3 machines are connected at the same time.

One of these is way cheaper and does as good a job.

You could get the mifi modem on 3pay from 3. You can connect up to 5 devices to it at any 1 time.
