Small Wedding Venue

    Hi all,

My Fiancee and I are currently planning our wedding for the end of 2011. We are having some trouble finding an appropriate venue as we will be holding a small reception and have a small budget.

We are looking at having about 30 people at the reception for a sit down meal and then an afters in the room with the same number of people. This is proving difficult to arrange because most hotels have a minimum number of guests well above 30.

Would anybody have any recommendations of hotels/venues which would cater for this size wedding at a reasonable cost?

We are based in Dublin and the reception will need to be within an hour or so drive of the city centre.

Thanks in advance for your help

Have you tried the Ashling Hotel on Parkgate St? We're just having a wedding meal for 8 people there and have been really happy with everything so far. They might have a meeting room or something that would suit what you want to do.

What about booking a small, intimate restaurant for the evening? If it also had a bar and a wee bit of space ye could hold the afters there too.

The Schoolhouse Hotel in Ballsbridge would be a magical spot - not too far to drive!

Beaufield mews restaurant is a good option. Best food i've ever had at a wedding and really intimate

Thank you all for the responses.

And Charms.ie we have looked into the Schoolhouse and this looks perfect for us right now. Thank you for this recommendation. It has been a big help.

Sorry Dublin City Hall is only 600euro. Which is slightly better. The registrar will also need to be paid, about 150. But this is the case regardless of where you hold the ceremony.
