What Hats Do You Own?

Bit of a dearth of hat related topics on this forum so thought I might try to get one going. All you hat fans out there, what hats do you have? Here is my present collection.

    _MG_2460.jpg

From top left to right are:-

    1. A brown wool fedora by Wegener, crushable.

    2. A bucket hat circa 2000 from the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens. The hat that made me realise there were better alternatives to the ubiquitous baseball cap. Has served me well over the years but sadly has seen a machine wash or two too many and is now on the small side. Reluctant to let it go though.

    3. A grey lined fur-felt fedora by Linney

    4. A Panama hat from Marks & Spencers in fedora style with a black band.

    5. A M&S Boonie Hat. Spends most of its life rolled up in my travel bag ready for emergency use but is a useful sun hat that also offers a degree of rain protection.

    6. An Aussie leather outback hat by Kakadu.

Also have an assortment of beanies for more extreme winter conditions and the inevitable selection of baseball caps.

The outback hat is undoubtedly my favourite. It's a versatile outdoor hat for all seasons which has taken lots of abuse from sunshine to dust to rain and still comes up smiling. I also rather like the Panama especially to accompany a nice linen suit. All my hats get regular outings though.

I have a Tilly T3 in khaki that I bought recently to replace my beloved Aussie hat that someone borrowed for a South American trip, then left in Madrid airport.

The only ones I have at the minute are two cheapy H&M trilby hats, but I still quite like them. One black, one grey. The black one is the regular style brim all round, the grey one is curled up all round (not sure of the correct terminology, 'snapped' is what's coming to mind).
The grey one is only a few days old, but I've been bending the brim down at the front to try to get it to stay that way, looks better IMHO.

    A beret,
    numerous beanies,
    a couple of baseball caps,
    a sort of fedora,
    a straw hat.

    I'd love one of these

Have just about convinced myself that I need to place an order for the following:-

    ca290.jpg

It's a Banjo Paterson hat by Akubra.

Although I'm also rather tempted by this one:-

A kangaroo outback hat by Barmah in Ironstone colour. It can be squashed into a small bag for travelling and will still regain its shape - ideal for those overseas trips.

    Decisions decisions.....

I've got a black trilby with a white pinstripe I got while in London last year, and another grey trilby with a black band around it.

I just really love the style of trilby hats! Sorry about not having any pics, the camera is missing :/

An Akubra which I actually bought in Bundaberg (Queensland), a panama from TX Maxx in Derby and a cotton safari hat from South Africa. The Australian hat is useful on rainy days. I use the safari hat when I am deep-sea fishing. The panama is just to annoy people.

I've got a nice little collection.....I tend to buy hats when I'm away on holiday.

    1. A stetson I got in Arizona
    2. A Fez I got in Istanbul
    3. A top hat I got in Dublin
    4. A Bowler I got in London
    5. A WWII German army motorcycle helmet I got in Germany

I'm on the lookout for a stovepipe hat right now....I saw some pretty cool ones in Sacramento but they were a bit dear ($500).

More hat related talk was definitely needed. I'm a bit of a hat fanatic, Ive got a big drawer full of hats!
My favourite hat is my bear hat. It's a bright red fuzzy hat. It has bear ears and a little tail. It also has two long red fuzzy arms with mittens at the end. The mittens have a paw design and PVC claws!! it is such an awesome hat. I LOVE IT!!:D

I love hats :D I like wearing them out and on Winter days I am forever in berets and beanies.

    I have several beanies
    3 fedoras
A couple of berets in lots of colours!

Some other random ones mainly for costume.. cowboy hats, military/navy style, Top hat, pin up and other silly ones.

I got mine on Achill - bit of an impulse buy, I could probably have gotten it cheaper elsewhere, but that's where I saw it.

I've seen them in outdoor stores also, possibly one of the shops in Kildare Village.

Is there anywhere in Ireland doing Jaxon hats. Would like above in black but not sure about size and do not want hassle of returning
