Hi i was just wondering would you still say it's 'acceptable' to wear jeans on a night out? I like jeans and i usually just dress them up with heels and a dressy top and jewellry but lately i feel like that's not enough or something? I'm not one for wearing dresses that often as i don't like my legs but like what's left then other than jeans?!

    I'd appreciate comments:D

Well the last few times I've been out I wear jeans! And sometimes don't even bother with heels! I guess it depends on the crowd you go with and where you're going. I hang out with my boyfriend and his friends a lot and I feel more comfortable wearing jeans and heels rather than getting really dressed up. If it's a special occassion then absolutely a skirt and a nice top / dress etc but I don't think it's weird to wear jeans on a night out.

Thanks! It's just lately i feel it's all about dresses! I think some girls go WAAAY over the top when they go out!! I mean i like to look well but seriously some of the girls i've seen on the town look like prostitutes - sorry to be harsh about it but they do! Anyway going off topic a bit i guess...:)

It could be that the girls who dress far too up are over-doing it because they can't afford to go out as much and are overcompensating.

Anyway, the last time I went out I was in jeans and I was a bit wary about it, a couple of years ago I would've been against it, but I get into the club and about 85% of people are wearing jeans! So I had a bit of a laugh at myself for being apprehensive! :D

I like dresses in the summer, but they tend to be casual ones, not...ahem...the type favoured by prostitutes.

Try getting a fitted pair of light white trousers, capri pants? If you're looking for a change, that is. I don't see anything wrong with jeans as long as you wear nice heels, tops, etc. to dress em up a bit.

Oh no i'm not saying that if you wear a dress you're a prostitute!! But the vast majority of girls i see on a night out wear just AWFUL dresses that are way too short and they don't even have the figures half the time! I actually bought two dresses recently but haven't worn them yet - goin out tonight but the legs aren't ready (need to be waxed!) so won't be wearing either of them tonight but soon maybe...:)

I think this is the case. Plus the girls who overdo it tend to be pretty young and maybe have not had that many opportunities to dress up. When you've been doing the pubs'n'clubs thing for ages you don't feel the need to get dolled up to the max every time!

I wear jeans sometimes going out. I don't really care what other girls are wearing tbh. Sometimes I wear dresses etc., sometimes I don't. I bruise really easily so I tend to have black and blue shins a lot, so covering 'em up is good! If you wanna cover your legs but want a change from jeans, how about leggings with a dressy top, or a dress and tights?

In that case, wearing jeans will make you stand out more! :)

From a guy's pov, I like the jeans+heels+nice top look. Even ditch the heels if you want and wear some nice slip-ons. Can be really cute. Don't worry about what other girls are wearing though. Imo, it's always best to stand out (in a good way)! :)

I wear jeans with heals on nights out all the time, both skinny and flared. They can be really understated sexy.

I havent worn jeans out since I was about 16.
But, thats because I hate trousers in general.
I really dont find em comfortable.

Ehh, But I have started wearing jeggings, and I would wear those out.

Like you said, with heels, a nice dressy top. . and some accessories. :)

Like someone else mentioned, I don't go out all the often so when I do, I like to make a big effort so I wear a skirt or dress. I also find jeans don't fit me as well as skirts or dresses so I would generally gravitate towards them anyway.

I hate wearing dresses and skirts out as well - legs not the best:D If I do end up having to wear them I usually end up not feeling comfortable and relaxed

I much prefer wearing jeans and a nice top - normally wear flat shoes in case I end up standing in a pub or club - high heels are way too uncomfortable for that!

I also find some women really pull out all the stops and end up going waaayy over the top even if they are just going out to the local pub!!! Dressed up in mini skirts or dresses with OTT hair is fine for a wedding or a posh do but Ithink it looks stupid down the local!!

I don't go out much in the city, but when I do, I can't get over how dressed up the girls are. I think as a previous poster said, people aren't going out as much and when they do, they go all out. I think it tends to be younger woman that really go dressy.

Wear what you feel comfy in, I'm going out in the city tonight and i'll be wearing black skinny jeans, a dressy top and heels. I know there will be loads of girls in skimpy dresses, but I know I'll be way more comfortable than them and look like I'm more confident in myself.

try to wear dresses/skirts with stockings or leggings, if you don`t like your legs. the leggings always give a edge look.

Twee, what do you wear with flared jeans on a night out?

They were quite high waisted, so I wore them with a plain capped sleeved t-shirt tucked in, wedges and a chunky gold necklace and a leather jacket over it all. Kept it very simple as flared jeans are not my usual.

When you described earlier how you wore jeans out either skinny or flared, I was thinking high waisted with the flares!

I'm quite tall so I think if I wore high waisted jeans/trousers it would look like my legs never ended!! :o

Bingo! Gotta excentuate what you have! In proportion to my height, I've quite a long torso, so the high waisted jeans gave me legs that went on for what seemed like miles. An important thing with jeans is to know your shape inside out. (I'm denim specialist in my shop :o Love helping people with jeans!)

I wear anything I feel comfortable in on a night out, be it jeans.. leggings etc. I don't think anyone would actually look down on you for doing so!
You can dress jeans up very nicely so I wouldn't be one bit worried. If that's what you feel like wearing at the time then go for it! :)

I'd usually wear jeans on a night out and pair them with a good top and dressy jacket and a pair of nice heels (I'm not that tall, so I need them!). If accessorized nicely there's no fear of them looking overly casual or undressed.

I wear skirts or jeans as the mood takes me. I wear skirts and dresses during the day a lot too, so they don't automatically translate as "evening" or "more effort" for me. I wouldn't feel more or less dressed-up in either jeans or a dress (unless it was a cocktail dress!), as I'd always have my hair and make-up done and nice accessories, regardless of my outfit. One of my favourite things to wear out is a pair of smart, straight cut indigo jeans with a cute top and patent ballet flats. You'll really stand out amongst all the fake tan and miniskirts in such an outfit!
In that case, wearing jeans will make you stand out more! :)
This is exactly why I sometimes opt for my ballet flats and skinny jeans going out ;)

Twee, that outfit you described sounds gorgeous! Understated sexy is a great way to describe the look :D
